Epoxy the Seam

Use tape to mask the edges of the countertop that need to be epoxied together.

Tape the Seam

Your order includes a two-part color-mixed epoxy for the seams. Press the back to dispense the epoxy first, then the hardware and mix together.

Epoxy

Step 1.

Add shims between the cabinet tops and the countertops if needed to make sure the countertops are perfectly level across the seam.

Step 2.

Apply epoxy to the seam.

Step 3.

Place as much force as possible to hold the seam together when the epoxy is drying.

Use clamps and a rachet if possible. Use small pieces of cardboard under the clamps to avoid damaging the countertop surface.

Clamping the Seam

Notes:

Your installation may be different but the concept is the same, apply as much force as possible to the seam when drying but don’t let the slabs shift.

Be careful when dispensing the hardener because it will speed up the epoxy dry time. Too much hardener can cause a chemical burn which could alter the epoxy color.

Apply the epoxy to both edges of the quartz to be glued together.

Use a single edge razor blade to verify the front edge and top of your quartz seam is perfectly aligned. If the razor isn’t smoothly passing across the seam, make small adjustments to the quartz by tapping it or changing the shim locations.

Keep a constant force against the slabs when the epoxy is drying. Use the razor to remove epoxy forced out of the seam when the slabs are held together.

Use the razor to clean up any excess epoxy. Use Acetone to clean the surface when the epoxy is set.
